Before we get rolling into what I believe is going to be hone of the best coffee chats we’ve ever had here on Entrepreneurs and Coffee, the action show, I want to remind you that you have one more day to enter our Seth Godin book giveaway.  Seth’s latest book, Your Turn, is truly one of his best and you can get your copy at brendanhufford.com/seth. Again, that’s brendanhufford.com/seth.

So what the hell do I even say to get today’s episode underway.  I feel like the intro for this episode is the 31 preceding episodes.  I talked about our guest today, Gary Vaynerchuk, in a few of my Q&A episodes and I mention him constantly.

If you aren’t familiar with Gary, he grew his wine business, Wine Library, from $3mil in revenue to over $60mil in the late 90s because he was one of the first people to go all-in with ecommerce.  Then, he saw the power of Twitter and YouTube and created Wine Library TV in 2006.  He’s an angel investor and author.  In fact, he wrote one of the most influential books of my entire life, Crush It, and the free content he’s put online, especially in the last year, has been monumental.

In 2009, he co-founded Vaynermedia which has grown into a nationwide 400 person company that helped fortune 500 companies market online and use social channels the way they’re meant to be used.

Gary is grabbing coffee with us today while on vacation so there might be some background noise and whatnot but I’m 5000% sure that our chat will be worth listening to.

Today, I’ll be asking him about entrepreneurial DNA, creating a successful marriage as an entrepreneur, his new focus on his health and if you’re a regular listener, you know that I teased at launching a product a while back, and I haven’t mentioned it since.  I’ll be giving you more details about why I’ve kinda gone silent on it and I expect Gary will have some unique perspectives on it as well.

Go pour yourself a fresh cup of coffee and let’s sit down with our guest today on the Entrepreneurs and Coffee podcast, Gary Vaynerchuk.

If you’ve listened to the latest episodes, you know that I’m giving away Seth Godin’s latest book ‘What to do when it’s your turn.’  It’s an awesome book. It’s all of Seth’s knowledge and bold statements you might have seen before but in a magazine or coffee table style book.  I want to Instagram every single page. Literally. This thing is beautiful.

So, I have a stack of copies here that I bought to give away to you.  I had a lot at first but I’ve already mailed a bunch out to friends.

So how do you get one?

You go to brendanhufford.com/seth and enter the giveaway.  It takes 30 seconds but what I love is that if you’re a hustler like me, you can kinda rig the giveaway in your favor.  I won’t give away how that’s done but all the details are there.  Again to win your copy of Seth Godin’s new book, go to brendanhufford.com/seth and register.

Today’s question comes from Pedro de la Cruz about how to get more people to his art shows.

I’ve recently fallen in love with Seth Godin’s new book ‘What to do when it’s your turn.’  I say it with the utmost sincerity that I haven’t been this fired up about a book since reading Crush It by Gary V a few years ago and I can also say that I wasn’t a true Seth Godin fan until I read this book.  I just didn’t appreciate what he had to say the way I do now.  This book is definitely a game changer for me.

And I want it to be for you as well.

I have a stack of copies here that I bought to give away to you.  Yes, I clearly meant it when I said that I’m passionate about this book.

So how do you get one?

You go to brendanhufford.com/seth (spell it out) and enter the giveaway.  It takes 30 seconds but what I love is that if you’re a hustler like me, you can kinda rig the giveaway in your favor.  I won’t give away how that’s done but all the details are there.  Again to win your copy of Seth Godin’s new book, go to brendanhufford.com/seth and register.

Before we dive into the second to last rule of building a brand, I want to give you something amazing…

SO

FINALLY

We’re here. Let’s do this.

On Monday’s episode of next week, we have an amazing guest, but we’re not going to get to meet him until Tuesday, because Monday’s episode is going to be a layout and explanation of my very first product.

Now, full transparency, this might fail.  And I’m totally okay with that.  I can’t think of an amazing company in the world that di

So maybe I should’ve kept that to myself a bit, but screw it. This is how we learn right?  So here’s what I want you to do.

If you want a sneak peek of it, go to brendanhufford.com/launch (spell it out)

A few things to note:

First, that page is live. You can actually sign up right there if you’re feeling it.

The details of the product are on that page and I’m not going to spoil them now, but I know what a MASSIVE freaking deal it is.

Second, I’m offering a discounted price AND opening ONLY 10 spots in our Beta program to help refine it for our big release in April.  The spots are limited and might fill up quickly so if you want to be a part of it, it might be worth it to sign up now.  If you have any questions, as always just shoot me an email: brendanhufford@gmail.com and I’ll get back to you right away.

So again, if you want a sneak peek before I talk about it on Monday, go to brendanhufford.com/launch

Go grab another cup of coffee and I’ll see you in the next episode of the entrepreneurs and coffee podcast.

Mar 16, 2015

I’m really excited to start chatting with our guest for coffee today, but before I do, I wanted to share something awesome with you. I just put together two ebooks that I’m pretty freaking pumped about.  The first is the 10 free resources that I used to bootstrap my business.  A lot of times when you start a business, especially when you have a family like I do, you don’t have extra money to buy all of the cool tools you see online.  You know you need a mailing list, and a way to get opt-ins and all of that, but that costs money, right? Wrong.  Then the problem becomes that if you google ‘free podcast tools’ or ‘free blogging tools’ you’re going to get a bajillion links to total freaking garbage.

So I wanted to put together something for you to save you some time.  You can grab that at brendanhufford.com/free

The second ebook is a really cool technique that I learned from Jairek Robbins, who is the son of Tony Robbins, called Emotional Stacking. I’m know for taking massive action in my business and this show is even called ‘the action show’ but even I have problems doing the difficult tasks and when I run into those types of roadblocks, this is what I use to get out of them and it works EVERY time.

I’ll go into all the details in a future episode of how it works, but it’s there for you for free also at brendanhufford.com/free.

First, I want to thank everybody who has sent in a question so far.  But I don’t just want to answer their questions. I want to answer YOUR questions.

To ask YOUR question, just go to EntrepreneursAndCoffee.com/ask.

Super simple.

Just go to entrepreneursandcoffee.com/ask and leave me a quick message.

In today's episode, we'll be chatting over coffee with a VERY special guest, who asks about negotiation in business, relationships, and as a philosophy.

Mar 12, 2015

I just want to remind you that you can go to brendanhufford.com/free and grab the 10 free tools that I used to grow my business when I didn’t have any type of budget. When I was bootstrapping it and trying to make my first dollar.

I warned you in Rule 6 that this episode isn’t going to be pretty.  We’ll be going dark in this episode.

And I think that’s a fair warning because We’ve been having a lot of fun together.

I’ll be honest.

At least this is a lot of fun for me.

And this, building a brand, building a business.

It’s fun.

But now it’s grown up time.

It’s time to grow up.

Here’s the deal. Some podcasts bring on anybody.  They want to bring on some of the “gurus” and whatever.  And when we start talking about the topic of branding, man, it seems like everybody is an expert.

Everybody buy’s Marie Forleo’s B-School and then just regurgitates that info and wants you to think they’re a branding expert.  Oh really? You’re a branding expert? What’s your training? What brand have you built other than the one where you’re trying to trick me into thinking you’re a branding expert?

No thanks.

But here’s the thing, I only care about content and action.  If my guest can help you get past the noise online and get past all of the fake advice and fake gurus out there. Then I’ve done my job.

Because I’m not always the expert and I’m sure you’ll hear me say that today.  I know a TON based on my experience building a brand from scratch to a significant level while still working full time.  BUT, there are people out there who  know more than me.  And it’s my job to get them to you.

My guest today is going to knock your socks off.

Re Perez is the founder of the agency Branding For the People.  I met him out in San Diego at a really cool event which I’m sure we’ll talk about.  I was, like I said, SICK and TIRED of all the posturing of fake experts and when he got on stage and answered a few questions, I thought, oh wow. This guy really knows his stuff. This guy has chops.

Branding For the People literally means explaining branding in a way you and I can understand it.  He doesn’t use fancy words.  His agency’s mission is to bring branding to the people. To us.

He gives the BEST actionable advice on branding I’ve ever and you’ve probably heard me mention him a few times in the 10 rules of brand building series that I’ve been doing.

Last week we talked about Rule #5: Be the Best at Being You.  That’s when you’re making your product and using your voice and somewhere along the way you lose your path.  You forget who you were when you started and you’ve just become somebody who tries to be like everybody else.  Niche down and stay there.  Have something to say.  Nobody is better at being you than YOU.

Today we’re going to tackle Rule number 6 of building a brand: Have Heart.

Having heart requires passion.

And as I told you at the end of the last lesson in branding, today you’ll learn how to get rich off your passion.
