Interested in going from wantrepreneur to entrepreneur without quitting your job?  Let's chat!

We talked about this in the very first episode of the 10 rules of brand building, episode 7 of then Entrepreneurs and Coffee podcast and all of the rules of brand building can be found in Bobby Kim’s article over at TheHundreds.com.

So rule number five of branding, of brand building, is to Be the best at being you.

Be the best at being you.

If you’re listening to this, there’s probably a 50/50 chance you’re missing this.

So let’s break it down and then, as always, I’m going to explain how you screw this up, and then how you rock this.

Kimanzi Constable knows exactly what it’s like to have the cards stacked against him.  At 17, he left his parents and spent 6 months living on the street.  He got a job delivering bread at midnight which turned from a job he loved to a job he disliked, to a job he hated.  He found himself 170lbs. overweight, $180,000 in debt, and in a marriage that was in trouble.

I tell you that all of that because I know on at least one point you’re saying, man I know exactly how that feels.  But what if I told you that he’s conquered all of that.  All of the doubt, debt, the dead end job, and the dying marriage.  And if you’re experiencing one of those, or all of them, so can you.  Today, we’ll talk about how.

First, I want to thank everybody who has sent in a question so far.  But I don’t just want to answer their questions. I want to answer YOUR questions.

I think after today’s episode, you’ll see that things don’t always have to be super serious on the Entrepreneurs and Coffee Friday Q&A.

To ask YOUR question, just go to EntrepreneursAndCoffee.com/ask.

Super simple.

Just go to entrepreneursandcoffee.com/ask and leave me a quick message.

In today's episode, we'll be chatting about who inspires me (other than Pat Flynn; thanks for the call-out, Melissa!).

Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

Let that sink in a bit.

Willie Jackson is an amazing human being.  I’m not going to sugar coat it.

The first time I heard Willie Jackson speak, I was blown away.  I was watching the film, I’m Fine Thanks and heard his story.  I started following him and the things he’s gone on to write and say are incredible.  He understands business and doing work that matters in a way that I think is truly incredible.

I could spend 20 minutes writing and barely come up with things he says on the fly.  I expect this to be one of the most quotable chats we’ve ever had on the Entrepreneurs and Coffee podcast.

I can say with full honesty and transparency that I feel that Willie Jackson has done and will continue to do amazing work in our lifetime and the insights you’ll get today, as well as on his blog, will be some of the best advice you’ll ever get on your path as an entrepreneur.

So before I run out of superlatives to describe him, let’s chat with our guest today, Willie Jackson.

Who messes up the first sentence? This guy.

I really hope you enjoyed the last episode in this series where I shared Rule number two of Bobby Hundreds’ 10 Rules of Brand Building. As before, you can find the full article at thehundreds.com.

Today, we’re gonna rap about Rule Number 3, but first I want to remind you to go toentrepreneursandcoffee.com/ask and ask me a question for Free Q&A Friday tomorrow.  We have a few ready to roll out but I can’t wait to hear YOUR question to go to entrepreneursandcoffee.com/ask and leave me a question. I love the book Outliers, by Malcolm Gladwell.  I had the fortune of reading it for the first time on vacation with my wife and my parents.  I do most of my thinking and planning by getting away from my normal location and routine and this was no different.  You see, in Outliers, Gladwell says you can achieve mastery in about 10,000 hours of effort.  I slightly disagree, I think that you don’t need the full 10k.  You can be dangerous with around 80% master, enough to do some serious damage, in far less time.

But 10 thousand hours?  That’s some serious consistency.  That’s Bill Gates breaking into computer labs and skipping classes to learn programming not once or twice, but every day for YEARS.

You don’t get consistency like that by working 15 different jobs in 10 years or getting a new hobby every January.  You buckle down and do one thing for a decade.  If people don’t say you’re obsessed or think you’re crazy about whatever you’re into, you’re not deep enough yet.

Heyo! Brendan Hufford back here again with a nice, hot, comically large cup of coffe joining you today on the Entrepreneurs and Coffee podcast.

And I have to make a confession

Today is not really an episode, but more of an ask.

And that ask is just for you to check out entrepreneursandcoffee.com/ask.

Today is the first ever Entrepreneurs and Coffee Q&A Friday where I’ll be answering *YOUR* questions on business, branding, marketing, coffee, and anything else I can help with.

These episodes are going to be super freaking fun, but only if you (and I) don’t act the fool.

Well, I’ll probably still act the fool. It’s all the coffee. I can’t help it.

Sound good? Rad.

So here’s the best way to get on the show:

Please keep your question under one minute in length.

If you have a website and URL, you’re allowed to share it only once during the recording. For example: “Hi, my name is Phil Phillipson. I have a blog called Phil’s Brews at WatchPhilBrew.com. My question is…”

Spammy, hateful, or if I just can’t understand the words that are comin out of your mouth,

Please do not go out for happy hour on Friday and then decide to submit a question.

Actually please do.

It won’t get on the show, but I’ll probably really enjoy listening to it.

So again, go to entrepreneursandcoffee.com/ask and

Oh, and a special note, only the first 20 or so messages will be saved, so if you want to get your question answered on the show, now is the time to ask.

I can’t wait to answer your question next Friday on the Entrepreneurs and Coffee Podcast.

Where da coffee at, son?

I really hope you enjoyed the last episode in this series where I shared Rule number one of Bobby Hundreds’ 10 Rules of Brand Building. As before, you can find the full article at thehundreds.com.

Today, we’re gonna rap about Rule Number 2, but first I want to remind you to go to entrepreneursandcoffee.com/ask and ask me a question for Free Q&A Friday tomorrow.  We have a few ready to roll out but I can’t wait to hear YOUR question to go to entrepreneursandcoffee.com/ask and leave me a question. It takes 30 seconds and I can’t wait to feature you on the show!

We’re going to talk about how to do it well, and how to totally screw it up.  I’ll also give you a case study of how a company worth $1.65 billion is totally messing it up as well.  So it’s not just us little guys that can forget this one.
